Taste of Staffordshire Retailer Award

We were delighted to be awarded 2nd Place in the Retailer of the Year Award at the 2011 Taste of Staffordshire Awards, held at Staffordshire County Showground on Monday 10th October. Great recognition for our team, who are passionate about the Staffordshire produce we sell and who every day fulfill their roles as ambassadors of Brown and Green to our customers and suppliers. 'Highly Recommended' British Cheese Retailer

The 2011 British Cheese Awards were held last night on Friday 23rd September, and we are delighted to be named among 12 Highly Recommended New British Cheese Retailers, alongside some very well regarded new delis and specialist cheese shops. Local Food Celebration

Our 10 day Local Food Celebration from 19th to 29th August was a HUGE success, with numerous local producers and tastings in store everyday. The store has never been busier, and the feedback from both our customers and suppliers has been excellent - it was indeed a true celebration of the food and drink that is made within 3 and 46 miles of our store. As we always say "local food is just miles better!"
Deli of the Year News

Thank you so very much to all 350 of you who took the time to vote for our Trentham Estate store in the 2011 'Deli of the Year' competition. We were so thrilled to win the West Midlands region and to make it to the final 11 in the country, but sadly we did not make it through to the final 3, so we won't be off to the awards dinner in London after all. Sniff... Reading the comments on your voting slips etc makes us feel very proud indeed, and as usual we will work hard to continue to offer you the local and artisan products, friendly, knowledgable service and upbeat and vibrant experience that you expect from Brown and Green.
Oatcake Day Fundraising

We raised £33.57 for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice on Oatcake Day, Monday 8th August. All proceeds from our oatcake sales from Sat 6th, Sun 7th and Mon 8th were donated, in addition to proceeds from each of our specially commissioned 'Stokie' sausage rolls (which had an oatcake and Staffordshire cheese and pickle surprise in the middle!). Thanks to all who came and bought oatcakes from us!
